FAQ: Get Answers To Your Questions

Who is coaching for?

Anyone that believes that our overall well-being is more than just the physical condition of our body! If you have a human brain and human emotions, and are feeling “stuck” in an area of your life, the coaching I offer would be a perfect fit.

Coaching is very valuable in many different life situations, because it helps us take a look at what’s going on with our thoughts, emotions, or feelings that could be keeping us “stuck”.

Common reasons people seek the type of coaching I offer include:

- Physical Health and Wellness Challenges (weight loss, wanting to improve metrics like A1C and blood pressure, etc)
- Emotional Challenges (burnout, difficult relationships, etc)
- Mental challenges ( co-creating heathy habits and goals, accountability partner, time management, etc)

- Spiritual challenges ( needing a safe space to ask questions, manage needs, etc)

Does having a coach replace other providers helping me?

No! Coaching is most effective when used in conjunction with other providers! I love and encourage the usage of other providers (doctors, dietitians, therapists, personal trainers, etc) when the need calls for it, because I am not licensed in any of those areas.

I AM absolutely here in conjunction with providers to help explain or clarify if there are questions!

Coaching is an excellent way to set any kind of heath-related goals and have a much more accessible (and less expensive) accountability partner than a doctor or other provider would be.

Is your nurse health coaching covered by insurance?

The short answer is no. Because I do not have a practitioner’s license (which allows for writing prescriptions, treating, diagnosing, etc) I cannot use medical billing codes to send to insurance for reimbursement.

In some cases, this type of coaching qualifies as a health-related expenditure, and HSA cards could be utilized.

Because insurances and HSA carriers vary widely, it’s up to you to call and see if they will accept health coaching as a qualified expenditure!

Why the heck should I choose Ashley for coaching?!

Since you asked, allow me to toot my own horn for a half a second! I have a lot of incredible reviews from past clients! Check them out on the main website page!

Since I was 17 years old, the only industry I’ve worked in has been healthcare. I became a certified nurse assistant (CNA) as a junior in high school and I became a Registered Nurse (RN) at age 20. I have worked in many hospital settings with specialities including: inpatient psychiatry, postpartum mother/baby, ICU, neurosurgery, pediatrics, orthopedics, respiratory and cardiac, as well as general surgery. I have also worked in outpatient settings, such as diabetes management, wound care, and home health.

I am a mother to four young children, which comes with a lot of personal experience mentally, emotionally, and physically! I have had personal experience with family members from everything from type one and type two diabetes, anxiety, autism, hypertension, you name it!

I have a broad knowledge base about both medical and mental health conditions. If there’s something I come across that I don’t know much about, I love learning and growing and will do whatever I can to research and learn to become more knowledgeable and helpful.

I have great interpersonal skills and have an easy time talking to people about any subject or topic they want to talk about, including the sensitive and vulnerable ones.

What are the outcomes I can expect after coaching with Ashley?

Buckle up! There are tons! Every client I’ve worked with has experienced both immediate (after one call) and prolonged (after multiple calls) relief because of the coaching and support I provide.

Expect to change in whatever way is most important to you. I’ve helped people lower things from blood pressure to weight to anxiety. Ive had clients report improved physical symptoms such as better/ increased sleep, focus, and stamina.

I’ve also helped increase mental resiliency to trials because of mindset management and habit support.

Most clients have seen improvements with weight management, healthy eating habits, and reached daily movement goals!

How is coaching different than therapy?

The main difference is that therapy is traditionally “past-facing.”

Much (if not all) of the time with a traditional therapist is spent discussing and reviewing past experiences, trauma, behaviors, and circumstances.

While there is absolutely a time and place for this, many people crave the forward progress that coaching brings.

Think of the analogy of your life as a car: the coaching I provide will have us focusing our lives on looking through the windshield (where we are going in the future) and traditional therapy is mostly focusing on the rear-view mirror (where we have been).

There is a time and place for both, so if you’re hungry for some significant change and improvement in your life, this is the place for you!
